Well, watching the KC Chiefs compete in the Super Bowl is no longer an issue. They had a good football season, and the pre-season games will be here before we know it.
The lake is partially frozen over with all the recent cold temperatures. Please remember that the ice depth is not sufficient to be safe anywhere on the lake. Please DO NOT walk on the ice and please keep children and pets away from lake until the ice melts.
You would think at this time of the year the pace of things for us around the lake would be slower. Such is not the case. Many thanks to those members who have already paid their annual dues. 50% of the members have already paid. Payment is due by February 28 to avoid interest charges. The registration process for boats is moving forward nicely. These forms should be ready to be sent out in the coming weeks. From a dredging standpoint we have visited 5 silt pond areas and made assessments of those areas. We now need to determine the amount of silt located in the various coves and come up with a definitive plan.
Other matters we are working on include various insurance renewals, DNR monthly dredging reports, preparing for the annual financial audit, fielding members’ questions, maintaining all of the equipment so the crews are ready to go in the spring, reviewing the roads and culvert study that finally is completed, finalizing the voting process for the election of the odd numbered Board of Director Districts, preparing for the Annual March meeting and generally performing all of the other tasks so we are ready for another safe summer at the lake.
Please mark your calendar for the Lake Annual meeting currently scheduled to be in-person on March 8, 2022, at the Church located at Gate 2.
Please call 816.578.4272 if we can assist you with membership needs. I also can be reached at 913.305.7181 or email me at [email protected]. Be safe! Harold
