Over the next few weeks, the Operations Crew will be finishing up crack fill on the roads and vacuuming the leaves out of the ditches. Please drive carefully. Greg has been marking dead trees on the parkway and the tree crew will be out dropping them soon.
Since the regularly scheduled Lake Improvement Board meeting falls every year on the same day as Thanksgiving and the December meeting usually falls over the Christmas Holiday, we combine both of those months into one meeting the first Thursday of December. Due to the fact that some members are having difficulty with scheduling for these meetings, the deadline for applications for the next meeting will now be the day following the meeting. Since the November/December meeting will be held on Thursday December 5th, the deadline for the January LIB meeting will be Friday December 6th. During all of the other months, the LIB meets the 4th Thursday so the new deadlines for applications for the next meeting will be the day afterward.
It’s been suggested that the Association could save on labor and postage by utilizing email for some of our correspondence to the membership. We’ve been accumulating email addresses and I’m happy to report that we can now reach almost 93% of the membership by email. We began sending out member statements in October via email and if the system works, we will continue to do so. We’ve also been researching an interactive system that will utilize the internet for the annual member forms. Beginning this December, we should have a system in place to send out the 2020 dock and owner/member forms that can filled out and returned electronically. If you’re part of the 7% who don’t have email or do not wish to participate, we will still send these out the old-fashioned way.
The Association Office will be closed Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday and Saturday. We’ll be gone from November 21st through Monday November 25th and be back on Tuesday. The Board of Directors, Office Staff and Operations Crew would like to wish every one of our members a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
