July 4th Info

We hope for all to have a Safe and Happy 4th of July! With that in mind, here are some important details:

1. The dam road will be down to one lane at 2:00 PM and will close completely to traffic at 5:00 PM until the clean-up is completed, well into early morning hours on July 5th. Please adjust driving routes for you or your guests accordingly.

2. Fireworks will start after dark on the dam. As in past years, we ask that boats stay back from the dam beyond a line that will be indicated by Water Patrol.

3.  Water was tested this week across the lake for E.coli and the results were consistently low and well within safe levels.

4. Lastly, please obey the law and don’t shoot off fireworks anywhere within the City. With recent drought conditions and the closeness of many houses on the Lake the last        thing any of us want is for the holiday weekend to be marred by memories of a house fire. Our friends with the Lotawana Police will be enforcing the ordinance. Do not call Water Patrol to report illegal fireworks – call 816-795-1960 (Jackson Co. Sheriff non-emergency).

For other concerns on the lake this weekend if you can’t reach Water Patrol please call Harold Mitts at 913-305-7181.

Thank you!
