Culverts Replacement / Resurfacing Project Notice/ Special Offer

We want to inform you that the Lake Lotawana Association will begin replacing three culverts on the east side of the lake on Monday, August 12, 2024. Following the culvert replacements, we will also mill and resurface the road.

Please be aware that there will be disruptions to normal traffic for a duration of approximately 2-3 weeks during this project. The road will be completely blocked during the day for culvert repairs and will be steel plated overnight for safety. When the repaving occurs, one lane will remain open, although it will be very narrow.

The culverts are located near the south end of the dam, near Z Block and Y Block. The milling and resurfacing project will extend from the south end of the dam to approximately 45 V.

Special Offer: The Association is pleased to offer residents with gravel driveways in the area of the road work the option to extend the road surface 3 feet into their driveways at no cost.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact the Lake Lotawana Association office by the close of business on August 15 to opt-in for the work at your driveway location.

Important Information: For those planning to install a new driveway or parking pad, including replacement of gravel driveways, please note that the Association requires applicants to install a grated drain running to the culvert on each side if the grade warrants it. While we currently allow the redressing of gravel driveways and pads, the Association is working toward gradually eliminating all gravel structures due to the damage they cause to roads and associated maintenance costs.

We encourage owners with gravel driveways that have a steeper grade than the road surface to consider installing a minimum of 15 feet of asphalt access with the aforementioned grated drain.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out at 816-578-4272 or [email protected].
