We would like to thank everyone for attending the Annual Budget Meeting on November 14th and those who voted prior to the meeting. The member’s response both in attendance at the meeting and the number of ballots voted was impressive. It’s nice to see such interest in the community. The staff and the Board of Directors appreciate the faith that the membership has shown in our handling of the Association’s finances. The budget passed (549 – 143.) The special assessment for the Capital Improvement Fund passed (474 – 230.) The Transfer Fee referendum passed (457 – 246.) All three will take effect on January 1st. The new dues and the special assessment will be reflected in the statements that will be mailed this month. They are due January 1st, but not delinquent until February 28th. You can also register your boats early (after January 1st), but only after the 2018 annual dues and assessments have been paid for all properties owned and your docks have passed the electrical inspections. If you’re not already signed up for trash service (either annual or seasonal) you can do that when you pay your dues. We will also be sending out dock license forms and owner/member forms like we did last year. Please verify the information, sign and return them to the office.
Keep us in mind if you’re looking for last minute gift ideas. We’ve got a great selection of Lake Lotawana apparel, Lake Rat flags and license plate holders, hand towels, sweat shirts and pants and a variety of head wear. Lake Lotawana coasters, koozies and boat key chains make great stocking stuffers. Come check out the new long-sleeved tees. Proceeds for all merchandise sold go to help the great clubs and organizations around the Lake continue to do good work.
Please join me in welcoming Marilee Magerkurth, our new Database Coordinator here in the office. We’re very excited to have her as a part of our team. Many of you may already know Marilee as she and her family have been part of our community for years. She’s working with Jennifer on learning and maintaining the database. When you come into the office, she will be here to help in any way she can.
