1/13/21 – Association News

Welcome all to 2021!  It is so refreshing to know that we can look forward rather than looking into the rear-view mirror.  As always, it is incumbent upon us to learn from our mistakes and build upon our successes.  That is the Association team’s focus and commitment to you!

Before we leave 2020, here are a few interesting numbers to ponder.  There are approximately 2,190 properties in the Association.  In 2020, there were 125 real estate transactions.  The number of boats registered (both renewal and new) was 3,060.  PWC registrations numbered 354 and trailers were 539.  Lake Lotawana was a very busy place!

By now you should have received the annual dock registration forms in the mail.  Please complete those forms and return them to the office at your earliest convenience.  Moreover, you should have received your annual invoice(s) via email.  If you have not received it/them by this time you are reading this article, please contact the Association office.  Obviously paying electronically significantly increases the efficiency of the payment process. In addition, if you have any questions about this electronic payment process, please do not hesitate to call the office.

A HUGE thank you is extended to the operations crew and their commitment to our Association.  On New Year’s Eve night they were out pretreating our roads in anticipation of the winter weather we experienced.  Yet again at 3 am New Year’s Day morning they remobilized in full force to treat and a plow the roads.  So much for them being able to ring in the new year with friends and family.  We are very lucky to have such a dedicated crew.  Thank you to Mike, Tyler, Steven, John and Josh for your time, talent and commitment to the Association.

The annual tree trimming and removal contract has been awarded and the contractor is already working on the list.  While it seems the budget I never large enough for this line item, we are doing our best to cover as many tree situations as possible.  Thank you for your patience.

While on the subject of trees, please remember that you are welcome to drop off your used Christmas trees at the turn-around at the dam until January 31st.  Please throw the trees over the guardrail with the other trees that should be laying there.

Please call us at 816.578.4272 if you have any questions or if we can otherwise be of any assistance.  You are also welcome to call me at 913.305.7181 or email me at haroldmitts@lakelotawana.net.

Be Safe!
