4/25/18 – Association News

As of this writing, Mother Nature has not been cooperating with the boating season.  The few nice days that we’ve had have been during the week, and the weekends have been crummy (an established meteorological term.)  Hopefully that’s all changed by the time you’re reading this.

By the end of the week you should have your boat stickers on your boats.  The rules say current decals must be on all watercraft that are on lifts, docks, the Lake and the common parkway by May 1st.  Buying them on time is not enough.  If you haven’t picked them up yet or they’re still sitting on your desk, please get them on to avoid a citation.  In case you haven’t registered your boats yet, be prepared with your insurance information either in hand or faxed in to us by your insurance agents in anticipation of your registrations.  Those with non-compliant docks that have either failed to pass last year’s electrical inspections or haven’t been re-inspected yet will not be able to get their stickers and therefore should have their boats off the common area (including the water, the parkway or their docks.)  You will get a ticket.  If you’re not sure that you have everything we need to register your boats, don’t hesitate to give us a call.  It may save you a trip back.  Also, please be sure that the Lot and Block numbers are still readable on your boats and docks.  It’s a good time to verify that your dock plates are still on your docks and are legible.  Water Patrol will be checking all the above during the next few weeks.  Don’t forget about your trailers in the storage lot.  They need to have current stickers on them too. Same with any golf carts that you may be using on the parkway.

This weekend is Spring Clean-up Days, April 27th, 28th, and 29th.  We will have dumpsters at the Water Patrol lot (just north of the dam and behind the Community Club) all three days, and the Martin Property will only be open on Saturday April 28th for yard waste.  Unacceptable items for the dumpsters are; appliances, tires, hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, batteries, railroad ties, landscape timbers, hot water heaters and lumber.  We can only take leaves, grass clippings and limbs under 4” diameter at the Martin Property.  The hours will be Friday 8:00 – 3:00, Saturday 8:00 – 4:00 and Sunday 12:00 – 4:00.  The Community Garage sale will be held on Saturday April 28th as well.  The Association will be advertising this for the benefit of our members.  Individual households must hold their own garage sales.  The dumpsters will be available Sunday afternoon for those left-over items that you still want to get rid of.
