4/10/19 – Association News

This year’s Spring Clean-up Days are April 26th, 27th, and 28th.  We will have dumpsters at the Water Patrol lot (just north of the dam) all three days, and the Martin Property will only be open on Saturday April 27th for yard waste.  Unacceptable items for the dumpsters are:  appliances, tires, hazardous waste, paint, chemicals, batteries, railroad ties, landscape timbers, hot water heaters and lumber.  The hours will be Friday 8:00 – 3:00, Saturday 8:00 – 4:00 and Sunday 12:00 – 4:00.  The Community Garage sale will be held on Saturday, April 27th.  Individual households must hold their own garage sales.  The dumpsters will be available Sunday afternoon for those left-over items that you still want to get rid of.

I’ve been asked by the volunteers who give out combinations for the boat ramp and trailer storage lots to remind everyone to please not call before 9:00 a.m. and no later than 7:00 p.m.  These folks give their time for the community, so please plan ahead and respect their time.

By the end of this month, you should have your boat stickers on your boats.  The rules say current decals must be on all watercraft that are on lifts, docks, the Lake and the common parkway by May 1st.  Buying them on time is not enough.  If you haven’t picked them up yet or they’re still sitting on your desk, please get them on to avoid a citation.  Also, please be sure that the Lot and Block numbers are still readable on your boats and docks.  It’s a good time to verify that your dock plates are still on your docks and are legible.  Water Patrol will be checking all the above during the next few weeks.

The boat gas pump is on at the Marina.  Hours of operation for now are 11:00 am to 5:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday.  The gas pump is closed on Mondays.  As of this writing the price of gas is $3.699.

There is still a lot of construction going on around the Lake.  It is also the spring rainy season.  The combination of the two creates difficulties with runoff onto the road and into the Lake.  The property owners are responsible for the actions of their contractors.  Silt fence is a requirement and the lack of it will result in a 6-point citation and a point a day until it’s corrected.  Mud and gravel that wash onto the road from runoff or construction vehicle tires will result in a 3-point citation for each occurrence.  The Association will bill the property owner for any clean up or repair expenses.
